Personal Development

This course has been a major contributing factor in my recent promotion to Full Professor.

Teamwork

The support we offer each other has been affirming and valuable for our roles as leaders.

Mentoring

Probably the most influential week of my academic career.

Selection Process

Each year universities around the world are invited to nominate one candidate who has demonstrated the potential to become a future leader in primary care research. They will usually be 1-10 years post-doctoral.  Ten applicants are normally selected.

Selection criteria

A selection committee will choose the best applicants.  Selection criteria include: demonstration of leadership skills; initiative; publications; and research activities. Nominating universities need to demonstrate their support of the participants throughout the programme.

Costs

  • Programme fee: £7,000 for 3 year programme
  • Bursaries to cover the costs of travel to attend the three residential meetings in Oxford
  • Bursaries to cover the travel of the participant to their placement(s)
  • Bursaries to contribute to the accommodation costs of participants’ while on their placement(s)

Application details

Applicants wishing to apply for a specific cohort will be able to download an application form from this website during advertised registation periods.  This should then be sent to the Leadership administration team with a CV, recommendation from their head of department and confirmation that their department will cover the fees and costs incurred by participating in the programme.
